Increasing Pleasure.
There’s been something in the air the past few days that has me feeling a little more excited than usual about life. I have noticed that wherever I go, whatever I’m engaging in, there is an awe, a fascination, a passion for living, that I have not felt for quite a while. Who knows if it's the stars or the moon, but everything feels a little more sensual than usual. Just the fact that I am alive, and breathing, and in this body, is enough to turn me on.
Feeling all juiced up got me thinking about ways or practices we can bring this feeling of pleasure, of sensuality into our daily lives. Through food, movement, self pleasure, and breath, we can enhance the pleasure we feel on a day to day basis.
Ways of bringing pleasure into daily life.
Movement.
Dance. Dance soft and sexy and slow. Put on some music that gets you connected to sensuality, and get your hips movin’ and groovin’. Seduce yourself through dance. Don’t be shy of making sounds as you move. Allow each moment, each movement, to be orgasmic.
Sensual Yoga - a beautiful friend of mine, Eleanor Hadley, developed Sensual Yoga, a yummy, embodying practice that leaves you feel so connected to your body, and empowered in your sexuality. Head to her website to find out more.
Go for sensual walks. This may sound silly, but hear me out. Instead of walking just for the sake of it, make it a whole body experience. Engage all of your senses. Breath deeply. Take moments to pause and take in every detail of the space you are. Lie on the grass and watch the clouds. Feel the sun warm your bones. The breeze painting landscapes on your skin with every touch.
Engage Your Own Sexual Energy Pump.
PC Squeezes are you own personal erotic energy pumps. A PC squeeze is a squeeze of the pubococcygeus (PC) muscle. To find that muscle imagine you are in the bathroom peeing and someone unexpectadly opens the door. The PC squeeze is the movement that stops the flow of urine.
1. Gently squeeze the PC muscle for a couple of seconds. Release.
2. Again, squeeze, and release.
3. Repeat for a total of eight PC squeezes.
4. Do eight squeezes as fast as you can.
5. Remember to be gentle. If you're doubling over with each squeeze you are working too hard.
The PC muscle is a crucially important sexual muscle. For men, the squeezing and tightening will help achieve stronger erections. For women, toning this muscle will enhance your vagina's sensitivity and responsiveness, as well as your capacity to shoot sexual energy all over your body.
Food.
What we put in our bodies, as well as the way we eat, can influence how much pleasure we feel. For me personally, eating is one of the most pleasure filled parts of my day. If you can tap into just how sensual eating can be, you’ve just added three pockets of pleasure to your day, without having to add anything to your daily routine.
How We Eat.
Eating can be extremely sensual, if practiced with intention and awareness. The way in which we eat can result in our meals being filled with so much pleasure. When you eat, make sure to savour each bite. Make each meal a sensual experience.
Eat with all five of your senses. See the colours. Smell the aromas. Feel the textures. Hear the crunch (honestly, nothing is sexier than a nacho crunch). Taste each bite.
Eat slowly. If you struggle with this as much as I do, try chewing your food thirty times before swallowing. This will help your digestion, and prevent you from eating it way too quickly.
What We Eat.
I personally feel the most pleasure and nourishment when I am feeding my body with nutrient dense, whole foods, that leave me feeling healthy and happy.
For my body, a diet rich in a variety of plant based food is ideal. Start becoming aware of your body. What foods leave you feeling vital and nourished? What does your body want more of? If we feel vibrant and healthy on this inside, this will reflect outwards. Alongside a healthy, balanced diet, adding in certain aphrodisiac foods can help juice you up a little bit more.
Some of my favourite libido boosting foods are.
Maca Root
Ginkgo Biloba
Red Ginseng
Fenugreek
Cacao
Goji Berries
Cordyceps
Make Your Home More Sensual.
Make it a space that awakens your senses, and makes you feel relaxed. My favourite snug home items are:
Throw blankets - the softer / silkier the better.
Silky bed sheets.
Soft lighting.
Flowers.
Candles.
Aphrodisiac essential oils - lavender, vanilla, jasmine, sandalwood, rose, ylang ylang, neroli.
Breath and Sound.
Breath is one of the most powerful ways of increasing the flow of sexual energy in the body, alongside sound. Honestly just making sounds of enjoyment, while I’m eating, while dancing, while hugging, or whatever it is I am doing, immediately makes me feel more connected to my body, and enhances my body’s capacity to feel pleasure. I’m just sitting here going ‘mhmmmmm’ while typing this and it sure is getting the creative juices flowing.
The Circular Breath to enhance pleasure.
The essence of the Circular Breath is breathing in a continuous flow, with no break or pause between the inhale and exhale. The inhale flows effortlessly into the exhale, which flows seamlessly into the next inhale. You can do the breath sitting, standing, or lying down. Practice it for 5-10 minutes.
Breathe gently through your mouth, keeping the jaw relaxed and your lips slightly parted.
Feel the back of your throat open and relax. Do not force or push the breath. The inhale will require a bit more effort than the exhale which should just gently fall out.
Imagine your breath making a complete unbroken circle.
This breath is especially useful for circulating sexual energy in your own body, and between yourself and a partner(s). It builds and moves energy, and it intensifies feelings. Both physical and emotional. Some variations on the Circular Breath include through your nose and out through your mouth, and visualizing an unbroken figure eight instead of a circle.

Long, yummy, bubbly baths.
There is so much potential for us to be experiencing pleasure in the mundane. One of my biggest goals with this work is to show people just how much pleasure we can feel, and how much there is to feel turned on about in our every day life. In my tantric online immersion, the Sacred Union, we dive a whole lot deeper into pleasure and tools to heighten sexual energy. Click here to find out more.
The practices I have shared are things that have worked for me. I would love to hear if there’s anything that you do daily to bring more pleasure into your life. Pop me an email if you’d like to share. Be playful with these. Explore pleasure with curiosity. You might be surprised by what you find.
All love
